Topakk, starring Arjo Atayde and Julia Montes, comes home for Metro Manila Film Festival 2024

Internationally acclaimed action-packed thriller TOPAKK starring Arjo Atayde and Julia Montes finally comes home to join this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.

TOPAKK, with its international title, Triggered, centers its storyline on a former special forces operative now working as a security guard (played by Atayde) grappling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD. His path crosses with a brother (Kokoy de Santos) and sister (Julia Montes) who are both on the run from criminal forces. The movie explores themes of redemption, corruption, and mental health, highlighting PTSD and advocating for its awareness.

Directed by Richard V. Somes, TOPAKK showcases a career-defining turn by lead stars Arjo Atayde and Julia Montes. Atayde's performance has wowed audiences from Cannes, to Locarno to Austin, Texas, while Montes steps into a gritty action-packed role unlike any she's done before, earning recognition for her versatility and emotional depth. 

The cast and crew of TOPAKK recently visited Cebu to promote the movie as an official entry to MMFF 2024. The press con, which was held at Galo Grill & Bar, JPark Island Resort and Waterpark Mactan, was graced by its cast Arjo Atayde, Julia Montes, Kokoy de Santos, Levy Ignacio, Cholo Barretto, Gerhard Acao, Maureen Mauricio, Anne Feo, Nico Dans, Yian Gabriel, with Director Richard Somes, and Producer Sylvia Sanchez.
