"But you said you are Perfumed Red Shoes forever?" it was more like a statement, than a question.
I've rebranded my blog 4 times since 2009 but the name Perfumed Red Shoes stuck with me ever since I bought a pair of red GoJane pumps and kept them in the bedroom instead of the shoe cabinet in the garage. I was totally smitten, to say the least, so what better way to celebrate that love than by naming my blog after it? It was, is, after all, a blog about all my sartorial musings; with shoes taking centerstage because this momma used to obsess over #shoefies and #fromwhereistands and #SOTDs.
Fast forward to my mid-thirties and almost grappling with an internal "storm" (that I'm so done and over with to even think about it again and give it proper credit), I decided to take it all out on my blog-- or what's left of it anyway.
I had wanted to just migrate all contents to a new domain, and wipe Perfumed Red Shoes from the face of the world wide web. That would have been the easier route, one click and it's done. I was dead-set on doing it that one summer night back in 2019, while everyone was asleep and I was by my lonesome where no one dares to try to talk me out of it.
But I am a sentimental fool, and (almost) everything has a sentimental value to me. Case in point: I kept our Bali plane tickets from 2017, my pineapple pen from Tickles that I bought during my trip to Manila for my first ever out-of-town brand on-boarding session, and even the first movie date tickets from 2006. Our attic is my treasure trove and if I could only immortalize my old blog and dump it in there, I would do it without batting an eyelash.
I browsed my old blog the other night and thought, after spending hours pouring my thoughts into its blank pages, the effort it took to take a bajillion photos, narrow them down to just 4 or 5, and the time I spent to learn how to edit them properly, am I really going to hit delete? After everything? My old sentimental heart couldn't take it.
So here we are, trying to make things work with a new domain, a new name, and something more me now that I am in the late 30s.
Here's to hoping that this isn't just some New Year must-start/do things, a random I-am-down-wth-the-flu-must-make-something-new episode.
My old blog, Perfumed Red Shoes, stays, but I will be hanging out here more often to share random mommy thoughts and ramblings, home finds, home organization tips and tricks, events in Cebu, trips (be them food or places), and of course, fashion, skincare, beauty, and makeup.
I hope to see you here more often and do give us a follow on our socials and join our newsletter to be updated on new posts!
To new readers, welcome! To those who know me as Toni of Perfumed Red Shoes and are still here to join me in my For Every Mommy journey, THANK YOU FOR STICKING AROUND. Love you all from the bottom of my heart!
xx,
Toni
