Third time's a charm at The Reef Island Resort Mactan because this time around, they already have The Grounds.

Not that it wasn't there before, structure was already there but they just established it as their elevated take on the charming "carinderia"- or roadside restaurant. It is an outdoor dining area where guests can enjoy traditional Filipino dishes such as the classic sugba (BBQ), Tuna kinilaw (ceviche), and other beloved homestyle meals while basking under the Mactan sun, and enjoying the sea breeze.

While barbecue places are sprouting like mushrooms in this city, what sets The Grounds apart is their attention to serving only tender and juicy grilled meats; making sure they're grilled to perfection, and slathered with savory sauce for that perfect smoky flavor. Each serving is good for sharing, making The Grounds the perfect place for family dinners and get togethers.

SIGNATURE COCKTAILS AND CRAFT BEERS

To wash down your meal, The Grounds offers a great selection of signature cocktails and craft beers that go perfectly with their grilled meats. I wanted to try their craft beers but thought it best to try it when my husband's around so I ordered their Mojito which had a pretty strong kick, they definitely didn't scrimp on rum!

THE AMBIANCE

Grilled food by the beach is always preferred, add to that dining beneath the stars, and it's already perfection. I have long wanted to dine somewhere chill, a place that serves barbecue, kinilaw, and some cocktails, too. The Grounds gives you that and more with their al fresco dining by the beach. A relaxed cozy vibe is perfect for weeknight dinners to weekend get-togethers.
